EV charger load management controls how much power your charger or chargers draw so your home's total electrical demand stays within your panel's capacity. Static load management sets a fixed limit on charging power, while dynamic load management measures your home's actual electrical use in real time and adjusts charging up or down, letting your EV charge faster when the rest of the house is quiet and slow down when other large loads are running.

A Level 2 EV charger is one of the largest electrical loads in a home, and adding one to a panel that is already near capacity can trip your main breaker or require a costly service upgrade. Load management addresses that problem by keeping combined demand within safe limits. Modern electrical code recognizes listed energy management systems that limit EV charging load, which can allow a charger to be installed where a full-power circuit would not otherwise fit.
Panels and breakers also age, and some older models are more prone to nuisance tripping or, conversely, to failing to trip when they should — both of which we can evaluate during a visit.

Households with two or more EVs can share a single circuit between chargers instead of installing a separate full-capacity circuit for each. Many smart chargers, including products from Tesla and Wallbox, offer built-in power sharing that divides the available current between connected chargers and rebalances as vehicles finish charging
We plan multi-charger installations so the shared circuit, wiring, and charger settings work together, giving each vehicle a full charge without exceeding what your electrical system can safely deliver.

Dynamic systems use current sensors installed in your panel to monitor your whole-home electrical demand and communicate with the charger, which then adjusts its output automatically. Some chargers, such as Wallbox with its Power Boost accessory, offer this capability, and we configure and test the system so your charger responds correctly as your household's usage changes.

In some homes, load management allows an EV charger to be installed without upgrading the electrical service. We perform a load calculation of your home, evaluate whether a managed charging solution fits within your panel's capacity, and explain whether load management or an upgrade makes more sense for your situation. In some cases an upgrade is still the better long-term choice, and we will tell you plainly.

If you have solar panels or a home battery, many chargers can be set to favor charging from your solar production, reducing the amount of grid electricity your vehicle uses. We integrate charger controls with your solar and storage equipment where compatible, so charging fits into your home's overall energy plan.
Have solar or storage? Call us anytime at (425) 371-8570 .
Smart chargers and load management systems let you schedule charging during lower-cost hours and set limits for the rest of the day. Combining scheduling with load management helps you charge when it is least expensive while keeping your home's demand in check.

Honest and Upfront We were dealing with a shorted circuit in our house for going on a month and every other electrician that came out for a quote to fix the issue would cost me 250+ ending with an astronomical quote. This was not only frustrating but costing me a fortune and making the problem less traceable the more each company had their hands on it. I called REddie Electric and, after a few general questions on the issue and house, Eddie was able to give me a solid quote on replacing the outdated and rusted panel box along with the circuit to restore the power to the spare room in our house. We were scheduled within a week and the process spanned over 2 days with power only being out for a total of 7 hours on day 2. They replaced our outdated 125 amp panel box with a new 200 amp panel box and quickly discovered a solution to the circuit problem that had been bugging us for weeks. The electricians Vadim and Yasir were super respectful of our home and always kept us in the loop with what’s going on. Communication was never a problem and was always super fast and friendly.Posted on Google![]()

The electrician, Vadim, who worked at my place was friendly and professional. My 5 smoke detectors were replaced with the newest model and everything was cleaned up afterward. I also had a surge protector installed in my circuit panel box.Posted on Google![]()

Vadim and Yasir came out to replace and rewire a faulty GFCI receptacle and they were super quick and efficient in getting it completed. I had a couple of questions regarding quotes and different available options, and they were knowledgeable and kind in answering all of them. Will use their services again!Posted on Google![]()

Excellent support from REddie! Had a mysterious electrical issue with 5 receptacles in a 48 year old home that has had multiple projects. Timely response, extensive troubleshooting resources spent identifying a rather obscure location for a loose neutral. Vadim & Yasir were friendly, professional and highly effective. Identified and Updated some code issues in the process.Posted on Google![]()

Eddie was an absolute pleasure to work with. Due to a scheduling mix-up, I found myself in a real bind, with other workers scheduled for the following day who couldn’t do their jobs until I had electricity run above my fireplace. Eddie went out of his way to rearrange his schedule and somehow managed to get someone to my house within just a couple of hours. The electrician he sent—I wish I could remember his name—did an excellent job. He asked lots of questions to make sure everything was done exactly the way I wanted it, carefully measured and double-checked the placement before drilling, and the finished work looks beautiful. He also cleaned everything up thoroughly before he left. I really appreciated Eddie going above and beyond to help me out on very short notice. Great service, excellent workmanship, and a company I would definitely use again.Posted on Google![]()

I found REddie Electric on a Google search looking to update all 9 of the hardwired smoke detectors in my home. Communication has been exceptional, I have been able to text with questions and requests, and received prompt responses, this quality of communication is really important in my world! I received a quote quickly for installation of 9 hardwired “smart” detectors, and was required to pay a 30% deposit to schedule. Yasir arrived on time, was professional, and did an excellent job with installation, testing and clean up. Wonderful attention to detail and was kind enough to greet all my cats and allow them to “help out”. He connected all detectors to my WiFi and Ring app. I really appreciate the ability to be notified of alarms when I am away from my home, and to be able to turn them off without having to push the physical button. I highly recommend REddie Electric, and will use them in the future for other services they offer.Posted on Google![]()
