Radiant floor heating warms the floor and the people and objects in the room directly rather than blowing hot air, creating even, comfortable warmth without drafts, noise, or circulating dust. Electric systems install in a thin layer beneath your flooring, need no boiler or ductwork, and can heat a single room independently of your central heating, making them well suited to remodels and additions.
Electric floor heating is also easy to control room by room. Each heated zone has its own thermostat and floor sensor, so you can warm the bathroom floor while leaving other rooms unheated and schedule heating for the times you actually use the space.

Electric floor heating systems come in three main forms. Heating mats pair a mesh backing with pre-spaced heating cable, making them the easiest option for tile floors in regularly shaped rooms. Loose heating cable can be laid out in custom patterns, which suits irregular spaces, curves, and areas around fixtures. Heating film is a thin, flexible option designed for certain floating floors such as some laminate and engineered wood products.
The right choice depends on your floor covering, room shape, and subfloor, and every system must be compatible with the flooring installed above it. We help you match the system to your project and follow the manufacturer's installation requirements.
Panels and breakers also age, and some older models are more prone to nuisance tripping or, conversely, to failing to trip when they should — both of which we can evaluate during a visit.

Electric floor heating is most popular in bathrooms, where cold tile is most noticeable, and in kitchens, entryways, and mudrooms where hard flooring and foot traffic make warm floors especially welcome. It is also used in sunrooms and in basements, where installing heat over a cold concrete slab can make a space far more livable. Insulation beneath the heating system can improve performance over concrete slabs.

Electric floor heating needs a dedicated circuit sized for the system's total wattage and voltage, and many systems run on 120 or 240 volts. GFCI protection is required in bathrooms and called for by most manufacturers, and the thermostat must be rated for the connected load. Larger heated areas and multiple zones add up quickly, so we evaluate your panel's capacity before installation.
We perform a load calculation for every floor heating project and tell you plainly if your panel needs additional capacity, a sub panel, or an upgrade to support the heating load alongside the rest of your home.
Wondering if your panel can handle heated floors? Call us anytime at (425) 371-8570 for a free assessment.
Our process begins by evaluating your floor covering, subfloor, room layout, and goals. We plan the heated area, avoiding locations beneath permanent fixtures and cabinetry that would block heat, calculate the electrical load, and size the circuit and thermostat.
The installation involves running the dedicated circuit, mounting the thermostat, installing the floor sensor, connecting the heating element, and testing the system's resistance before and after the flooring is installed. We coordinate with your flooring installer, who sets the finished floor over the heating system, so every stage is completed in the right order.

Programmable and Wi-Fi floor heating thermostats let you set schedules so the floor is warm when you wake up and set back when you're away, and many can be controlled from your smartphone. Scheduling heat around your daily routine helps you get comfort when you want it without running the system around the clock.

Remodels and new construction are the best time to add electric floor heating because floors, walls, and ceilings are open and the circuit can be routed cleanly. We coordinate with contractors and designers during rough-in to pre-wire circuits and thermostat locations for kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and basement finishes so the heating system fits seamlessly into your project.
Planning a remodel or addition? Call us anytime at (425) 371-8570 to include heated floors.
Electric floor heating installation requires an electrical permit and inspection in jurisdictions throughout Snohomish and King Counties when a new circuit is added. We handle the permitting, schedule required inspections, and provide documentation of your approved, code-compliant installation.

Honest and Upfront We were dealing with a shorted circuit in our house for going on a month and every other electrician that came out for a quote to fix the issue would cost me 250+ ending with an astronomical quote. This was not only frustrating but costing me a fortune and making the problem less traceable the more each company had their hands on it. I called REddie Electric and, after a few general questions on the issue and house, Eddie was able to give me a solid quote on replacing the outdated and rusted panel box along with the circuit to restore the power to the spare room in our house. We were scheduled within a week and the process spanned over 2 days with power only being out for a total of 7 hours on day 2. They replaced our outdated 125 amp panel box with a new 200 amp panel box and quickly discovered a solution to the circuit problem that had been bugging us for weeks. The electricians Vadim and Yasir were super respectful of our home and always kept us in the loop with what’s going on. Communication was never a problem and was always super fast and friendly.Posted on Google![]()

The electrician, Vadim, who worked at my place was friendly and professional. My 5 smoke detectors were replaced with the newest model and everything was cleaned up afterward. I also had a surge protector installed in my circuit panel box.Posted on Google![]()

Vadim and Yasir came out to replace and rewire a faulty GFCI receptacle and they were super quick and efficient in getting it completed. I had a couple of questions regarding quotes and different available options, and they were knowledgeable and kind in answering all of them. Will use their services again!Posted on Google![]()

Excellent support from REddie! Had a mysterious electrical issue with 5 receptacles in a 48 year old home that has had multiple projects. Timely response, extensive troubleshooting resources spent identifying a rather obscure location for a loose neutral. Vadim & Yasir were friendly, professional and highly effective. Identified and Updated some code issues in the process.Posted on Google![]()

Eddie was an absolute pleasure to work with. Due to a scheduling mix-up, I found myself in a real bind, with other workers scheduled for the following day who couldn’t do their jobs until I had electricity run above my fireplace. Eddie went out of his way to rearrange his schedule and somehow managed to get someone to my house within just a couple of hours. The electrician he sent—I wish I could remember his name—did an excellent job. He asked lots of questions to make sure everything was done exactly the way I wanted it, carefully measured and double-checked the placement before drilling, and the finished work looks beautiful. He also cleaned everything up thoroughly before he left. I really appreciated Eddie going above and beyond to help me out on very short notice. Great service, excellent workmanship, and a company I would definitely use again.Posted on Google![]()

I found REddie Electric on a Google search looking to update all 9 of the hardwired smoke detectors in my home. Communication has been exceptional, I have been able to text with questions and requests, and received prompt responses, this quality of communication is really important in my world! I received a quote quickly for installation of 9 hardwired “smart” detectors, and was required to pay a 30% deposit to schedule. Yasir arrived on time, was professional, and did an excellent job with installation, testing and clean up. Wonderful attention to detail and was kind enough to greet all my cats and allow them to “help out”. He connected all detectors to my WiFi and Ring app. I really appreciate the ability to be notified of alarms when I am away from my home, and to be able to turn them off without having to push the physical button. I highly recommend REddie Electric, and will use them in the future for other services they offer.Posted on Google![]()
